The Ogun State House of Assembly has today Tuesday, 23 January 2024 impeached RT Hon Olakunle Oluomo from being the Speaker.
Addressing the press, the newly appointed helmsman, Hon Daisi Elemide confirmed the impeachment as having been unanimously carried out by eighteen (18) of the whole twenty-six (26) members of the House.
“We just want to pass it to the whole world that there’s been a change in the leadership of this honourable House. And eighteen (18) out of the twenty-six (26) members have unanimously signed, supported and chosen me to be their Speaker.
I am now their new speaker. I am not their boss. I am only the one that will speak to protect their interests.
“We plead with our people to remain calm. We have adjourned for a week. We’re in custody of all the authorities of the House”, Hon Daisi Elemide asserted.
