The Ago-Iwoye Area Central Development Council (ACDC), representing all Associations, Clubs, Groups, and Regberegbe in Ago-Iwoye, has demanded Justice and Equity in the zoning of the Executive Chairmanship position of Ijebu North Local Government, Ogun State
In. an e-signed press statement, the Area Central Development Council urged all political parties to work together to ensure justice and equity in the zoning of the Council’s leadership position.
The good people of Ago-Iwoye hereby beseeched Governor Dapo Abiodun that it’s time for Ifelodun to have a fair chance to lead.
Explaining, the statement continued that Ijebu North Comprises two State Constituencies: Ijebu North I (Ijebu Igbo) and Ijebu North II (Ifelodun – Ago-Iwoye, Oru, Awa, and Ilaporu) with eleven (11) electoral wards while; Ijebu Igbo has six (6) and Ifelodun has five (5).
“Historically, Ijebu Igbo has dominated the Chairmanship position for nine (9) terms, while Ifelodun has only held it once. The Nine (9) past Chairmen from Ijebu Igbo are the following;
– Chief S.F. Kazeem (1979-1981)
– Engr. Dr. Ademola Babajide (1987-1989)
– Mr. Ademola Adedeji (1991-1993)
– Alh. Olalekan Mustapha (1996-1997)
– Chief Babajide Okusanya (1997-1998)
– Arch. Yomi Banjoko (1999-2002)
– Barr. Bola Kalejaiye (2004-2007)
– Otunba Olajide Osifeso (2012-2015)
– Mr. Bolaji Odesanya (immediate past)
“Alhaji Tele Ogunjobi represented Ifelodun in (2007) served for only nine (9) months before Prince Wale Osiyemi completed his tenure.
“We urge stakeholders from all political parties to consider a credible candidate from Ifelodun to represent the interests of Ago-Iwoye, Oru, Awa, and Ilaporu in the upcoming Local Government elections.
“While reiterating our commitment towards the complementation of the governments efforts in making life more abundant for the people of our communities, please, accept the assurances of our highest regards”.
